Connect travelers through independently planned activities

A different way to think about it would be Couchsurfing for activities, or Meetup for travelers. I built Gather because I believe this product should exist. One of the best aspects of traveling alone is the people you meet in a hostel. However, if you're not staying in a hostel you don't get this social aspect of traveling.

There should be a central place for travelers to meet up for these interactions outside of individual hostel bars and common areas. All of the other "meet people while you travel" apps and websites out there focus on matching travelers' personalities, however this isn't how it happens in the real world. People meet up to do specific things together, the friendships develop as a result of that.
